Under 7s
The two Under 7 teams were in action again last Saturday 13th February in the Sports Hall in the WIT, this time they played Gaelic Football. By the end they had won two and lost two but most of all they had an enjoyable day. Just like last week the Blue team consisted of Sean Doocey, Billy Mc Lawrence, Billy Shanahan, Adam O’Connor, Dylan Browne, Josh Hodgers, Ben Regan, PJ Bolger, Scott Ryan and Evan Mackey and played Sacred Heart and St. Saviours.The players on the White team were Dylan Butler, Jack Sweeney, Niall Geraghty, Adam Walsh, Edward Lambert, Darragh McGrath, Paul Wall, Jamie Hutchinson, Billy Shanahan, Sean Doocey, and Billy McLawrence and they played Gaultier and Sacred Heart. Well done to all including the mentors Eric Curran, Nicky Mackey, and John O’Keeffe.
Under 8s
It is the turn of the Under 8s next Saturday the 20th February when they will take part in the Hurling Indoor Blitz in the WIT Hall. The following week they will play in the Indoor Football Blitz. Notes have been given out to all the players concerned.
Under 10s
The under 10s have been invited to play in two GO Games matches at half time of the National League Game between Waterford and Dublin next Sunday. This will be a great thrill for the boys and thanks to The Coaching and Games Development Committee for the invitation.
Under 13’s
The under 13s took part in the second evening of the Astro Turf Blitz on Friday last playing Clonea, Tramore and Ferrybank. Again the squad put in some great performances and really enjoyed themselves. They will play again this coming Friday. All the players will be informed once the fixtures arrive.
Minor Football
Sunday 14th February saw our minors back in action once again against Roanmore in Gracedieu. It was a good performance by the young footballers who led from start to finish. The final score was 6-3 to 1-7. The next fixture is against Kilmacthomas away, scheduled for Saturday evening.
Training Times
Age 5-6 – 12 noon to 1pm.
Age 7-8 – 11am to 12 noon.
Age 9-10 – 1pm to 2pm
Under 12s – 6-7pm (Mondays & Thursdays)
Under 14s 6 – 7.30pm (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
All the sessions will take place on the Astro-turf pitch & Hurling Alley.
Membership
Membership is now due and can be left behind the bar or contact Paul Fanning. Deadline for membership is 31st March. I ask everyone to make the effort to pay as soon as possible. Membership rates are as follows: Hurling & Football – €50; Family – €50; Student €20; and Social Membership – €15.
Primary School Hurling
Training for Mount Sion School under 11 and 13 teams continues on Tuesday at 3pm to 4.10pm on the Astro Turf and Ball Alley.
Yard hurling leagues continues this week. Monday-3rd Class; Tuesday 2nd Class; Wednesday 4th & 5th Class; and Thursday 6th Class.
