Training Times
Age 5-6 – 12 noon to 1pm.
Age 7-8 – 11am to 12 noon.
Age 9- 10 – 1pm to 2pm
All the sessions will take place on the Astro-turf pitch.
Under 12
Training for the under 12s takes place on Thursday at 6pm & Saturday at 2pm. All should attend.
Under 14
Training for the under 14s will start back on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6-7pm in the Astro Turf. All are expected to attend.
Upcoming events
The Under 7s and 8s are entered into Indoor Hurling and Gaelic Football Blitzes in February. All the players at these age groups need to be up training over the next few Saturdays to prepare. Players will be contacted over the next week with details.
Membership
Membership is now due and can be left behind the bar or contact Paul Fanning. Deadline for membership is 31st March. I ask everyone to make the effort to pay as soon as possible.
Vodafone-support your club
Vodafone are helping clubs raise funds and have started giving 5% of customer’s mobile bills (both pay as you go and bill phones) back to GAA Clubs. Log onto www.supportyourgaaclub.ie and register. It’s FREE!! But obviously you have to be a Vodafone customer to avail of this. Get your family, friends & work colleagues to sign up too.
Primary School Hurling
Training for Mount Sion School under 11 and 13 teams begins this week. Training begins on Tuesday at 3pm and finishes at 4.10pm on Astro Turf and Ball Alley.
Yard hurling leagues back in full swing this week. March will see our second and third class hurlers participate in four inter school blitzes (one each week) culminating in a grand final day in Walsh Park. Attendance at yard hurling and club training is important in preparation for these events.
A big thank you to Paul Flanagan, Pat Barrett, Damien Frisby and Seamus Nolan for their continued efforts in the school each week. Parents of any child in the school interested in starting hurling in the school can contact Mr. Fanning in Room 21 for more information.
