Under 14
The Under 14s travelled to Lismore on Bank Holiday Monday to take on the home team in the first round of their championship. Lismore were first off the mark with 2 points from play before Ryan Flanagan opened the scoring for Mount Sion. Lismore edged back in front by 3 points but 4 points from the placed ball by Evan Curran left 3 between the sides at half time.
Mount Sion reduced the deficit within seconds of the ball been thrown in with three quick points. The sides drew level on a number of occasions before Ryan Flanagan broke free and finished the ball to the back of the net to put Mount Sion in front for the first time in the game. Lismore were quick to respond and added a point to their total before an error in the Sion defence led to Lismore scoring their first goal. A long ball out of the defence fell to Ryan Flanagan who finished to the net to give Mount Sion the lead. To Lismore’s credit they recovered well and an injury time goal game them a two point win. Final score Cnoc Sion 2-11 to Lismore 2-13. The second round of the under 14 took place on Monday 10th against Dungarvan, report to follow next week.

La na gClub
The GAA’s Club Celebration day took place last Sunday with a huge attendance by young and old alike. There was great fun enjoyed by all with skill tests, matches, tug-of-war, drills, competitions and the very popular novelty course a big attraction for all the kids. Also, some of the senior hurlers popped by to give a hand and see the children. There was also a BBQ on the day and a band in the club. We would just like to say a big thanks to all that volunteered to make the day such a success.
