Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes
County Junior Football Final
Best of luck to the Junior Footballers on Saturday next when they take on Sliabh gCua in the Junior Football County Final. We hope ye all make the trip to Fraher Field to support the lads. Throw in at 3:30pm. Best of luck boys!Kilmacud Crokes
The Under 8s travelled to Kilmacud Crokes in Dublin on Sunday last. In our first game we played the host club and won by 3-1 to 0-0. The second game saw us take on Durlas from Tipperary. It was another entertaining game and again we came out on top by 4-4 to 0-0. We took on Naomh Eanna from Wexford in our third game and won the game convincingly and were the only team to win all our group games. In the Semi-Final we took on Upper Church Drombane and lost out narrowly by two points. This qualified us to the shield final where we were unlucky and lost out to Buffers Alley. Thanks to all the parents and coaches who travelled to support the team and we should be proud of the lads for their great performances during the day. The panel for the day was: Adam O’Connor, Adam Walsh, Ben Regan, Billy McLawrence, Darragh McGrath, Dylan Browne, Dylan Butler, Jack Sweeney, Jim Yaciuk O’Connor, Cian Purcell, Paul Wall, Sean Doocey and Scott Ryan.Under 5,6,7s
The youngest hurlers in the club were in action last Saturday. They played a round of challenge games against Ballyduff Lower in our own pitch. The weather may not have been the best but this didn’t dampen the spirits of the future hurlers of Sion. These little lads are progressing nicely with the help of their coaches every Saturday morning. Well done to all these little fellas and keep playing away.Club Mass
The Annual Club Mass for our deceased members will take place on Thursday 10th November at 8pm in Mount Sion Chapel. Tea and light refreshments will follow in the monastery after.Niall Warren
