Season’s Greetings
On behalf of the club I would like to wish all our members and followers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we hope to see ye up in the club for a few drinks over the holiday period.Poker League
The final of the Poker League took place last Saturday with a table of 10 players. From the mid-week Freeze out we had Mark Flanagan and Ian O’Regan who advanced to take the final two places. Each player was allocated their final table chips in terms of their position on the final leader-board. Ian Galgey emerged victorious on the day and claims the top prize of €350. Well done Galo on your winnings. Also to Kenny Stafford and his number two Ricky Freeman on running such a great event over the last 15 weeks.Juvenile AGM
The Juvenile AGM took place last Wednesday at 8pm in the club. We had a good turn out as normal for such an important event. Chairman Peter Walsh extended his welcome to Club Chairman and Secretary, Sean O’Dwyer and Seamus Cleere. Sean Spoke briefly about the juvenile club being the lifeline of the club and thanked all the coaches for their exceptional efforts throughout the year. Tina Gleeson gave a very comprehensive report on the years happenings. In the nomination of officers all were returned in the same positions with the exception of Drug Awareness Officer who is now Pat Kelly. The following were elected: Chairman – Peter Walsh; Vice-Chairman – David Thornton; Secretary – Tina Gleeson; Treasurer – Tom Power; PRO – Owen Sauvage; Equipment Officer – Niall Walsh; Children’s Officer – Eoin Fanning; Drug Awareness Officer – Pat Kelly. Also last Wednesday night we held The Under 11-16 medal presentation. We had big turnout of family members and of course the children themselves. Some of the medals that were given out were for our Under 11 and Under 12 teams who won the City League. Well done to all those who collected their medals and awards. Player of the years were as follows: Under 13 – Jordan Hutchinson; Under 14 – Andrew Doherty; Under 15 – Cian O’Regan; and Under 16 – Austin Gleeson, who also picked up the Mick Healy award.
