Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes

Adult Presentation Night

On February 4^th February we will be having another big club night in the club with our adult presentations for the recent success of both of Junior Teams and the 2009 minor football champions. There will be great music on the night from Lebowski (Formally Cassidy)!! Followed by DJ till late. Tickets are limited so get yours early to avoid disappointment!! Tickets €5 each and are on sale from either Tina Gleeson or from behind the bar.

We are BACK!!

This Saturday morning sees all our young Juvenile Hurlers and Camogie players back training after the winter break. The following are the times and venues:

Hurling Coaching for 5 to 7 year olds Children born in 2005, 2006 & 2007 takes place at 12 Noon every Saturday on the All-Weather Astro-Turf Pitch at the Club Grounds.

Juvenile Camogie coaching also takes place on Saturdays at 12 noon on The All-Weather Astro-Turf Pitch at the Club Grounds.

Hurling Coaching for our 8 & 9 year olds, Boys born in 2003 and 2004 takes place from 1-2 pm on Saturdays at the Club field.

I have to confirm the times for the Under 10 & 11s training.

Looking to get your child involved in sport or meet new friends. Then bring them along to the correct age group or contact Juvenile Chairman Peter Walsh for more information. Training is 100% free and hurleys and helmets can be supplied to those who need them. Best of luck to all the children and coaches for 2012!!

The GYM

Over the last number of months the club has built a gym through many of our club members giving up their free time and expertise. The gym is open to all members and keys are to be signed in and out from the Bar. It is suggested that you would leave a donation in the donation’s box behind the bar when you use the gym. All money received will be used to buy more equipment for the gym.

The club would like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their free time in the construction of the gym and the benefits that it will bring to the club will hopefully be seen in seasons to come.

Membership

Membership is now due for 2012. The following are the rates for this year. Family €50, Adult Hurling & Football Member €50, Student €30 and Social Members €15. Please either see our Registrar Paul Fanning or leave your name and money behind the bar.

The Interview Room

Over last week we had Jamie Gleeson as our Juvenile Interview and we had Christopher Ryan for our Adult Interview. I’m looking for more people to take part, so if you’re interested please contact Savo ASAP. To see the lad’s answers and all the lads who have participated over the last number of months, get onto the website and look for the interview room or juvenile interview room under the news tab. www.mountsiongaa.ie . New Juvenile interviews are added every Tuesday and adult interviews are added on Thursdays.

Last Man Standing

The Last Man Standing Competition started this weekend. With strange results all through the premier league, many of the competitors are down to one life. See our “The Last Man Standing” Page on the website under the news tab to catch up with the results!

Chess Club

Chess club takes place every Tuesday night in the club at 9:30pm. We hope to see the regular faces and some new ones up next Tuesday.

Darts & Cards

Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.
