Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes
Under 21s
The Under 21 Footballers will play the first championship of the year when they take on Rathgormack on Sunday next, the 19th February at 2:30pm in Rathgormack. We hope we can get as many supporters as we can out to cheer on the lads. Best of luck!Under 8s
On Saturday 18th February our Under 8s will take part in a blitz in Ballygunner from 10am to 12pm organised by GDA John Quinn. Best of luck to our young little hurlers.
Juvenile Training Times
The following are the times and venues for juvenile hurling training:
Hurling Coaching for 5 to 7 year olds Children born in 2005, 2006 & 2007 takes place at 12 Noon every Saturday on the All-Weather Astro-Turf Pitch at the Club Grounds.
Juvenile Camogie coaching also takes place on Saturdays at 12 noon on The All-Weather Astro-Turf Pitch at the Club Grounds.
Hurling Coaching for our 8 & 9 year olds, Boys born in 2003 and 2004 takes place from 11am-12pm on Saturdays at the Club field.
Hurling Training for the Under 10 & 11s takes place on a Friday night at 6pm-7pm.
Looking to get your child involved in sport or meet new friends. Then bring them along to the correct age group or contact Juvenile Chairman Peter Walsh for more information. Training is 100% free and hurleys and helmets can be supplied to those who need them. Best of luck to all the children and coaches for 2012!!
Membership
Membership is now due for 2012. The following are the rates for this year. Family €50, Adult Hurling & Football Member €50, Student €30 and Social Members €15. If you haven’t already paid can you please either see our Registrar Paul Fanning or leave your name and money behind the bar. Money must be paid by 25th February for all players and members to be registered for the coming season.
The Interview Room
This week we had Evan McGrath as our Juvenile Interview and we had Senior Hurler Sean Ryan for our Adult Interview. I’m looking for more people to take part, so if you’re interested please contact Savo ASAP. To see the lad’s answers and all the lads who have participated over the last number of months, get onto the website and look for the interview room or juvenile interview room under the news tab. www.mountsiongaa.ie . New Juvenile interviews are added every Tuesday and adult interviews are added on Thursdays.
Last Man Standing
The Last Man Standing Competition ran again this week. Make sure you have your team picked before Thursday night and sent to Tina. See our “The Last Man Standing” Page on the website under the news tab to catch up with the results!

Darts & Cards
Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.
Chess Club
Chess club takes place every Tuesday night in the club at 9:30pm. We hope to see the regular faces and some new ones up next Tuesday.
