Last Tuesday night saw a glorious evening for the Ladies Football to start off their league campaign with a marvellous win against St Pauls in Mount Sion. Even with a lot of players missing Mount Sion started off with a very strong attacking team scoring three goals within the first eleven minutes and points coming from play with all players being very competitive for the ball. Lisa “Mousey” Dower scored a tally of 3-04 in the first half bringing the girls to a 6-11 to 0-02 point’s advantage at half time.In the second half Sion played against the breeze. Sion changed their style of play which worked out a treat, as they worked on getting long range scores and on keeping possession of the ball starting from goal to forwards. Final score: Mount Sion 9-21 to St. Pauls 0-04. Well done to all girls involved great start to the league campaign and congratulations to Jonny Cleary on his first win as new Ladies Football Manager. Your hard work seems to be paying off.
