Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes

Eastern Fixtures 2013

Last Thursday night at the Eastern Board Meeting, the 2013 groups were drawn for the Intermediate Hurling, Under 21 Hurling and Junior Football and Hurling. In the Intermediate Hurling we were drawn in the tough group of Erins Own, Portlaw, Dunhill, Clonea and St. Saviours. In the Under 21 Hurling we will face Roanmore in the Quarter Final in Gracedieu in early September. The Junior Football structure is one group of eight teams with the top two teams into the Semi-Final and third to sixth place all getting a quarter final place. We will face Ballyduff Lower, Butlerstown, Erin’s Own, Ferrybank, Kill, Naomh Pól and Fenor. The Junior Hurling will take the same structure of last year with a home and away arrangement with each team getting ten games in the group. In our group we have, Ballygunner, De La Salle, Roanmore, Passage and Clonea. The bottom team will be relegated to Junior B for 2014.

Juvenile Training

The following are the times for our Juvenile team’s training on Saturday morning in the club. New comers are always welcome and hurley’s and helmets can be supplied.

Ages and times below

Age 5 & 6 – Boys (Born in 2008 and 2007) – 11 am to 12 noon

Age 7 &  8 – Boys (Born in 2006 and 2005) – 12 noon to 1pm

Age 9 & 10 – Boys (Born in 2004 and 2003) – 1pm to 2pm (note change of time for this group )

Membership

Membership for 2013 season is now due and must be paid by 31st March. The rates for the coming year are as follows: Hurling & Football Club/Family: €50; OAPs: €10.

Last Man Standing

The next Last Man Standing Competition will begin on February 2nd/3rd. Please have your entry money paid into the bar by Wednesday 30th January.

Darts & Cards

Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.
