The Semi-Final of the Sargent Cup League took place last Friday night against De La Salle in Walsh Park. Anthony Kirwan got the opening score within the first minute of the start. A direct reply by De La Salle levelled up matters. Michael Frisby and Ian Power settled Sion with two more points. Lee Hayes replied for the opposition with Anthony Kirwan again finding his range. Niall O’Sullivan and Richard Roche both raised white flags. De La Salle replied once again. Michael Power flicked the ball over as big brother Ian also pointed. De La Salle hit two more scores, but Sion led by two points at the break.
Junior Football Championship
Our Junior Footballers recorded another victory in the championship. It was a hard fought game with Sion having to come from behind to run out winners. We would like to wish the two Butlerstown players all the best as they both picked up serious injuries during the game. Well done lads, we have topped the table and we can now look forward to the Semi-Finals.
La na gClub
La na gClub took place last Saturday and this year we teamed up with the Robbie Forristal Appeal to host the Family Fun Day. It was a brilliant day with loads of people availing to dunk and soak some of the characters we have in the club. Cakes were sold, Dogs were on show and plenty of food and fun were had by all. Thanks to everyone who donated items and of course their time for the day. We have loads of pictures up on the website for all the events of the day!
Waterford Action
We wish Austin Gleeson and Sean Power all the best with the Munster Final replay on Tuesday night at 7:30pm in Semple Stadium.
