Club Website
We are now in the process of having a video gallery on our club website. The idea is to preserve the great history of the blue and white. We have already uploaded the 1994 Co. Final v Passage. A great collection of videos which include the full game and the celebrations in the club after the game, with a special rendition of The Mount Sion Song by Paddy Greene, Padraig O’Fainin and all those in attendance. Other videos already uploaded are clips from the 2000 Co. Final and plenty more to come! Keep an eye on the video section. If anyone has anymore video’s in either VHS or Digital form, please contact Owen Sauvage. We would be delighted to have it for the website. http://mountsiongaa.ie/about/videosNext Weekend
The Senior Championship resumes next weekend with Mount Sion facing Passage in Walsh Park at 5:45pm on Saturday. We hope to see a good Mount Sion support down to cheer on the team. Best of luck lads.
All Ireland Awaits
Well done to Austin Gleeson, Sean Power and Anthony Flanagan who were all key components in Waterford’s Minor victory over Kilkenny last Sunday in the All Ireland Semi-Final. Ladies Football
7-a-side
Our Ladies Footballers went to Modeligo to play in the Walsh Memorial Tournament a few weeks back and played two games. They beat Old Parish and Dungarvan in the Final. It was a great performance by all the girls to capture the first trophy of the new season. The final game was very close through-out and Mount Sion got the winning score in the last few minutes of the game. The whole panel played their hearts out. Panel: Ciara Phelan, Ciara Keogh, Louise Sheridan, Amy O’Sullivan, Elaine Kennington, Jean Dooley, Martina Cashin and Amy Flynn. Well done girls.11-a-side
The girls travelled to Old Parish with only nine players and came away winning their place in the final. Again a great performance from all involved, they all gave 150%. In the first half we played with 8 players after a yellow card and sin bin. The Sion goalkeeper made a diving save across the goal to help keep Sion ahead and book their place in the final. Well done girls, some great Mount Sion spirit and commitment on the day.
