Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes

Up and Coming Games

On Monday next (28th October), our Under 15s face De La Salle in the Eastern Final in Walsh Park. The game was originally down for decision some weeks ago but due to an unplayable Walsh Park, the game was rescheduled. The boys are looking forward to the game and we would urge all our supporters to get down to Walsh Park for 2:15pm to support our lads!

The Under 21s are back in action on Sunday 3rd November against Ballygunner in Walsh Park, time TBC. The lads overcame Roanmore last weekend with a hard fought comeback to book their place in the Semi-Final. The winners of this game will face the winners of De La Salle and Passage in the Eastern Final on Sunday 24th November.

Best of luck to both teams in their respective games!

Happy Birthday

A big Happy Birthday to Pat McGrath who hit a big milestone this week and turned 60! Enjoy your celebrations.

New Arrival

Congratulations to Sarah Flynn and Mark Caulfield on their new arrival, little Thomas Caulfield. Also congrats to Grandparents Des and Aileen and new uncles John and Kevin! Another little Mount Sion baby of the future.

We have the table up on the website! Keep track of who is doing well and who is left! Another load gone this week!!!

Deise Draw

We had one winner this month in the Deise Draw. Joe McCarthy scooped €400. Next draw is this coming Friday, 29th November in Newtown/Ballydurn. Tickets will be available from Josie Evans or from the bar. Anyone who is paying monthly, can you please ensure that your monies are paid by Wednesday 27th November. Please contact Josie Evans (087-0686700) to join and more importantly to make sure you are in with a chance to scoop the top prize of €10,000!!! Each month there are many other cash and special prizes. Tickets are €10 per month for nine months. You can either pay up front or per month by leaving the money behind the bar. 70% of the money raised will go directly back to Mount Sion. Best of luck to all our ticketholders!

Fixtures

Under 15 East Final v De La Salle in Walsh Park on Monday 28th October at 2:15pm.

Under 21 Championship Semi-Final v Ballygunner in Walsh Park, time TBC on Sunday 3rd November.

Juvenile Training

The following are the times for our Juvenile team’s training on Saturday morning in the club. New comers are always welcome and hurley’s and helmets can be supplied. Ages and times below Age 5 & 6 – Boys (Born in 2008 and 2007) – 11 am to 12 noon Age 7 & 8 – Boys (Born in 2006 and 2005) – 12 noon to 1pm Age 9 & 10 – Boys (Born in 2004 and 2003) – 1pm to 2pm (note change of time for this group )

Membership

Membership for 2013 season is now due and the deadline of 31st March has passed. The rates for 2013 are as follows: Hurling & Football Club: €50; Family €50; OAPs: €10. Please pay your membership at the bar or by seeing our Registrar Paul Fanning. http://mountsiongaa.ie/news/membership/

Darts & Cards

Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.
