Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Munster Championship
lWhat an amazing Senior Championship debut for Austin Gleeson as he burst onto the main GAA stage on Sunday with a goal that is already being mentioned for goal of the season in the drawn game against Cork in Thurles , the whole country is talking about the wonder score and Aussie was even trending on twitter ! Best of luck in the replay in two weeks time .Scrap Saturday
The Juvenile Club are running a Scrap Saturday event next Saturday May 31st in the club , all types of scrap metal will be accepted on the day so now’s the time to start looking in your sheds and attics for all those old bikes , prams , trampolines and kitchen appliances that you want to get rid of , no TVs or fridges but most anything with metal will be accepted , for enquiries please contact our own rag and bone man Michael Flanagan on 086-3583463.!Under 11 City League
It was a good week for our Under 11s as they won two games in the space of four days in the City League , first match was the re-scheduled fixture on Monday night against Passage which they won by five points and next they played Glenmore in the club and ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-07 to 3-0 , well done to the lads and their mentors and lets keep the winning streak going ! Next match is against Tramore in two weeks time.Under 14 Feile
After two thrilling games to win the eastern Feile our Under 14s travelled to Dungarvan on Wednesday night to face Abbeyside in the County Final , unfortunately things didn’t go to plan on the night and the lads lost out to a very good Abbeyside team , hard luck lads and best of luck to Abbeyside as they go on to represent the County in this years Feile , the lads are back out on Monday night as they play St Carthages in the County Championship in the club .Junior Hurling
The Juniors have been having a hard time of it this year and were unfortunately on the losing side against Roanmore on Friday night last in a scrappy affair , the first round of matches have now concluded and after this week’s game against Passage there’s a break of a few weeks before the next game .Bon Voyage
Best wishes to Senior Hurler Stephen O Neill and girlfriend Orla Mooney as they head off to New York on a J1 for the summer , enjoy the Big Apple and looking forward to seeing you back in August !Fixtures
