Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Granville Hotel GAA Star of the Month

What a month May was for Austin Gleeson,  first he burst onto the national GAA scene with that amazing goal against Cork  two weeks ago in Thurles and then last week  he was awarded with the Granville Hotel GAA Star of the Month for May, this is a great honour for Austin and his family and even though the replay didn’t go as planned hopefully he has a long summer ahead of him playing with Waterford.

Under 11s

The Under 11s have been going well of late and on Friday last they travelled out to Tramore hoping to keep up that good run of  form, despite Tramore taking the lead early on in the first half the lads came out in the second half and scored three goals to run out winners on a score-line of 3-011 to 3-07, well done lads great result, next match isn’t until early July against De La Salle.

All Star Challenge

Tickets for the Ken McGrath All Star Challenge are selling well so be sure to get yours before they’re all gone, check out the page on the website for a full list of sellers,  following the game there will be an All Ireland Preview Night in the club hosted by Kieran O’Connor.This promises to be a great night with  three of Waterford’s top live bands playing, Avalon, The Barflys and Paddys Pride!! A great nights entertainment all for just €5!! Get your tickets from Mount Sion Bar or by contacting a member of the organising committee.

Baby Girl

Congratulations to Lorna McGrath and partner Stephen on the birth of their new baby daughter Heidi Mae last week !

Deise Draw

Unfortunately we’ve had no winners so far in this year’s Deise draw. Tickets  are still available for the next draws from Josie Evans or from the bar. Please contact Josie Evans (087-0686700) to join and more importantly to make sure you are in with a chance to scoop the top prize of €10,000!!! . Tickets are €10 per month for nine months. You can either pay up front or per month by leaving the money behind the bar. 70% of the money raised will go directly back to Mount Sion. Best of luck to all our ticketholders!
