St Patrick’s Day Parade
As is usual our young hurlers will once more march in the local St Patrick’s Day parade this year and it’s going to be a special one as the Grand Marshall is Mount Sion and Waterford legend Tony Browne who has been given the honour for 2015, after the parade the aptly named Paddy’s Pride play in the bar from 5 till 7 so come on up and enjoy the craic!Half Marathon
Special thanks to Waterford Athletic Club who presented us with a cheque from the proceeds for helping to steward the Half Marathon last December, thanks to everyone who turned up on the morning of the event and to W.A.C. for their gesture towards other sporting clubs in the area, pictured is Club Secretary Owen Sauvage receiving the cheque from Derek Grant and Bobby Coady along with other members of W.A.C.Cash for Clubs
We’re asking club members if they can support the Cash for Clubs scheme with Topaz , the promotion is running until May and if we get 300 cards filled the club will be in with a chance to win 10000 euro , cards can be picked up at your local Topaz station and if everyone could fill a card or two we’ll be well on our way to getting into the draw!Fitzgibbon Cup
The Fitzgibbon Cup final replay took place on Wednesday last in Cork with UL overcoming W.I.T. on the night, there was a further blow for Sion with Austin Gleeson limping off after three minutes with a hamstring injury, hopefully Austin will be back to full fitness within the next few weeks.Deise Draw
The first draw of the 2015 Déise Draw will take place on Friday 27th March. This year the draw will run over eight months at the same great value of €10 per draw.Every month the draw prizes will include a first prize of €10,000, second prize €3,000, third prize €1,500 and 4th-11th prizes of €250.This year we are delighted to announce that Elverys Sports are the Offical Retail Partner to Waterford GAA.
