Senior Championship
Sion opened up their Senior championship campaign with a comfortable win against newly promoted Cappoquin in Fraher Field on Sunday last, from the start the Monastery men were in command with Bill Walsh having the first chance on goal before Martin F O Neill pointed from the resulting 65, Sean Ryan notched a brace of points before a mistake in the Cappoquin goal resulted in the green flag being raised from another Fish 65, county star Austin Gleeson struck next with Sion’s second goal and with points from Stephen Roche and Martin O Neill the score at half time was 2-07 to 0-04 In the second half Fish capped off an excellent individual performance with more points from frees and a well taken goal, Bill Walsh’s workrate and effort were rewarded with a goal with many other fine performances across the pitch , Final Score Cnoc Sion 4-18 Cappoquin 0-07, next game is against local rivals Roanmore on Sunday next at 2pm. The Under 14s had a busy week in the Feile with both the quarter and semi finals being played, first game was the quarter final against An Gaeltacht in the club on Tuesday night, Sion got off to a great start with points from Scott Hoban and Jake Maloney before PJ Murphy and Jamie Gleeson raised the green flag twice in quick succession, with further points from PJ Fanning and Ben Frisby and Jake Maloney netting just on half time Sion had a commanding lead at the break, another goal from Scott Hoban in the second half sealed the victory to earn a place in the place in the semi final on Sunday morning against Clonea Sunday morning saw more of the same against Clonea with both PJ Fanning and PJ Murphy deadly in front of goal each netting three times with points coming from the sticks of Peter Yaciuk O Connor, Jake Maloney, Timmy Sobowale and another goal from Jamie Gleeson to see another comfortable win, the lads are now through to the final against either De La Salle or Brickeys on Wednesday May 20thClub Deise

The Mount Sion Golf Classic takes place on Friday May 29th and there are still places available with tee off from 9.30am in Waterford Golf Club, cost is very reasonable at 90 euros a team with a meal, please see the poster for more details.School Astroturf
Just a quick reminder that support is still needed for the primary school playground astro surface. Buy a square meter for €50. Donate at the Bar. A Receipt will be issued with a certificate to follow. This Astro surface will give School and Club a welcome lift and help keep the club school connection alive and growing. The 2015 Deise Draw is up and running and we’re still waiting on our first winners .Tickets cost €10 a month with the club keeping 70% of the tickets sold. Congratulations to Jessica Gleeson who was picked to play at centre back for the Irish Womens International soccer team against the USA in san Jose on Sunday night last, Jess is well known around the club having played at juvenile level and is another member of the well known Gleeson sporting family !Fixtures
