Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Junior Hurling
In the first of their re-arranged games the Juniors took on Ballyduff Lower in Walsh Park on Thursday night last hoping to bring an end to their recent losing streak, nowhere was the old saying about goals making games more apt than in this game as despite ending on a perfectly respectable scoreline of 3-12 for Sion it wasn’t enough as Ballyduff and particularly their full forward line were on fire scoring four goals in the second half to put paid to Sion’s hopes, the last game in this group takes place on Friday night against Passage which is a must win game if Sion are to continue into the knock out stage.Juvenile Hurling
It was a good week for our Under 16 and 14 teams as they both had wins over Dungarvan and Portlaw respectively, the Under 16’s beat the Old Borough team by 7-12 to 0-15 with 6-06 coming from the full forward line and Ivan Sinnott notching three goals in a very good overall team performance, the Under 14s continued their good form of late with a seven point win over Portlaw which was all the more impressive as they were missing many of their regular players. All Ireland Quarter Final
It’s back to Croke Park for the Deise for the first time in years as they overcame a tough challenge from Dublin in Thurles on Sunday to book a semi final place against old rivals Kilkenny in headquarters in a fortnight’s time, well done to all involved and best of luck against the Cats!Kellogg’s Cul Camp
