Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

School Fundraiser

“End of Summer Night Out” takes place in the Mount Sion centre on Friday 25th September in aid of the Mount Sion CBS Secondary School Yard Project. On the night there will be musical entertainment from Bag O’ Spuds, Viva Las Vegas (Elvis Tribute) and Paddy’s Pride! Tickets are just €5 and there will be a raffle on the night. All money raised goes towards the Yard Project, tickets can be bought from behind the bar. This promises to be an excellent night out and all for a great cause !

Last Man Standing

 Last Man Standing returns on Saturday 12th September. Anyone looking to join in please leave your money and name at the bar. Remember you MUST have your money paid before the first Premier League game kicks off on that Saturday. Rules are as before. Juvenile Hurling

Some good results on the Juvenile front this week, the Under 16’s made the journey to Abbeyside on Tuesday night and in a high scoring game emerged victors putting 5-17 on the board which will surely give them great confidence for next week’s semi final, the Minors took on Tramore on Thursday night in the seaside resort and and came away with a morale boosting victory which should carry them on into their final game against Brickeys on Tuesday night, mixed fortunes for the Under 13’s as they were beaten by Roanmore in the semi final on Friday night but then on Saturday they travelled to the Kilmacud Crokes tournament in Dublin where they performed much better against Maynooth and Drom and Inch.

Deise Draw

September’s Deise Draw takes place at the end of the month. Tickets cost €10 a month with the club keeping 70% of the tickets sold. I.e. €7 a ticket.This year we are delighted to announce that Elverys Sports are the Offical Retail Partner to Waterford GAA. A 15% Discount Voucher will be available, on request through the club, to all members of the Déise Draw. Please leave money and names at bar or contact draw co-ordinator Josie Evans if you’d like to support our biggest yearly fundraiser.

Tesco Tokens

Last week in this promotion and thanks to everyone who has put their blue token in the Mount Sion box. If Mount Sion gets the most blue tokens they get the biggest cash amount, second place gets second cash prize and third gets third place cash prize etc. This promotion is running in Tesco Lisduggan at Waterford Shopping centre and started Monday 3rd August and runs for six weeks, so tell all your family and friends and spread the word that just by putting the token in the Mount Sion box they are helping the club! Thanks once again to Roisin for entering us in the draw.

Minor Hurling Championship V Brickeys in Mount Sion on Tuesday 8th September at 6.30pm.

Under 10’s v Ballyduff Lower in Mount Sion on Wednesday 9th September at 6.30pm

Senior Hurling Championship V Lismore in Fraher Field on Saturday 12th September at 5.30pm.
