Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Under 10 Tournament

Our Under 10’s have played in a lot of tournaments in 2015 and therefore it was only fitting that we hosted our own one to finish off the year. Dungarvan, St Mary’s Clonmel and Naas provided the opposition on the day when all four teams lined out in blue and white !First up for the Mount Sion boys was Dungarvan where the lads went down to an early goal but came back very strongly to win on a scoreline of 9-7 to 1-0 producing great scores from all over the field . Next up was a strong Naas team and in a very tight game with great scores from both sides Sion ended out winners on a scoreline of 2-5 to 2-2 .

Our last game of the day was against St Marys Clonmel which proved to be our toughest of the day and in a very physical game the lads battled to a hard earned draw 3-5 to 4-2 . All in all a great morning of hurling was had and the club as usual put on a great day for our visitors. Panel for the day was Jack Barrett, Alex Walsh, Ross Byrne,  Dylan Ryan, Cormac Dunphy, Lee Flanagan, Davin Marshall, Conor Walsh, Jake Marks, Adam Regan, Jack Kirwan, Jared O Keeffe ,Jack O’Grady, Adam Cummins and Emmanuell Adebayo.

 

Deise Draw

The Deise Draw for 2015 has now finished. As this year there were only eight draws the club will be running a ninth draw with guaranteed Mount Sion winners. Entry is ten euro with half of the amount collected going back in prize money. If you’ve paid in full for nine Deise Draws you’ll be automatically put into this draw. Those who are members of the Deise Draw for four draws or more can purchase a ticket for this draw which will take place in Mount Sion and we will inform you of the night in advance so we can make it a Mount Sion night. Thanks to all those who supported the fundraiser during the year and to Josie for all her hard work organising it for us.

Club A.G.M.

The annual general meeting of the club takes place on Sunday December 6th at 3pm , more details nearer the date to follow.

Stars in their Eyes

Mount Sion proudly present “Stars in their Eyes” in the centre on November 28th, see familiar (and not so familiar) faces as they take to the stage to live out their dreams as their favourite singers, rehearsals are in full swing at the moment and competition is going to be fierce! This promises to be a great night out and not to be missed, tickets priced at 5 euro are available behind the bar.

New Year’s Eve Gala

The booking is now open for the New Years Eve gala. Tickets are €35 which includes meal, band (No Hot Ashes) and disco. Tables of 8 people and we urge you to book now with deposit to secure table. Bookings are on a first come first serve basis and can be taken at the bar.

Last Man Standing

Last Man Standing is nearing the final stages now with some serious players left in the game! The updated table can be checked out on the page on the website and don’t forget to get your teams into Tina by Thursday.

Fixtures

Under 21 Semi Final v Clonea on Sunday 15th November time and venue tbc.
