Cnoc Sion 1-12
Ferrybank 1-18
A blistering hot Sunday afternoon in late May saw the the first game of 2016 for the Intermediates as they took on Ferrybank in Walsh Park, a young team with some seasoned performers thrown into the mix showed their intent from the off with a well worked Ferdia MacAodghain point, Ferrybank responded well though and even with two massive frees from keeper Shane Forristal going over the bar went into the break two points up, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-09 Ferrybank 0-11. The second half saw the men from the village rack up further points but the turning point for Sion came when Ferdia saw his rasper of a shot hit the bar which would have brought us right back into the game, despite Forro blasting to the back of the net from a close in free the conditions started to tell and tired legs were the order of the day as Ferrybank ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-18 to 1-12. Next game will be on in couple of weeks.
Under 11’s
The Under 11’s were in action once again in the club on Friday as they took on De La Salle in the City League, despite putting in a brave performance our lads were outplayed by a strong team and went on record their first defeat of the year, tough luck lads keep up the good work and the results will come.Feile 2016
It’s all systems go for this year’s Feile when the club hosts Whitechurch from Cork on Friday 17th June, a lot of preparation and fundraising has been done for this tournament and the club are grateful to everyone who has helped out and donated, as part of the Feile launch Mount Sion Primary school paid host to Uachtarain CLG Aogán Ó Fearghail who was visibly impressed by the welcome he got from the pupils and teachers and commented on the great link between the club and school.Munster Championship
It’s Munster Championship time again as Waterford travel to Thurles to once more take on Clare hoping to get revenge for the League final, best wishes to all involved and especially to Austin and Iggy, if you can’t get to Thurles for the match it will be on the big screens in the club and there will be music later on to hopefully celebrate a good result.Kits for Kids
