Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Senior League
Cnoc Sion 0-11
Ballygunner 2-19
Our Seniors made the short trip out to McGinn Park on Friday night last to take on local kingpins Ballygunner in the second round of the Senior league, in a tight first half where defences were on top the home team made the most of their chances and went into the break on a four point lead 0-10 to 0-06, following the break two goals from Ballygunner were enough to give them a comfortable margin, though Sion made a few changes they couldn’t make up the deficit and the game ended up 2-19 to 0-11 in favour of Ballygunner.Junior B Hurling
Cnoc Sion 3-15
Kilmacthomas 0-14
The Junior B’s welcomed Kilmacthomas to the club on Friday night last in the second game of this year’s championship hoping to keep their 100% recond alive, the Sion defence marshalled by Jessie Keogh were well on top in the opening half and kept the visitors chances to a minimum, first blood went to Sion when one of the longest serving players on the team Dermot O’Byrne smashed to the net following good build up play, with the visitors opting to play a physical game Michael Frisby was once more busy on free taking duties and two goals in quick succession early on in the second half from Andrew Doherty and Conor Malone sealed the result for Sion, final score Cnoc Sion 3-15 Kilmacthomas 0-14, well done on the result lads and keep up the good work going into the next game.Golf Classic
