Minor Hurling Championship

County kingpins Ballygunner were the visitors to Pairc O’Fainin on Tuesday last in the Minor Championship as Sion put their 100% record on the line, the visitors had the better of the opening exchanges with Eoghan Browne making a top class save only for the visitors to score from the rebound giving them the advantage, with Alan Kirwan dangerous in the forwards and Evan McGrath consistent as ever on the frees there was only a two point difference at the break, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-09 Ballygunner 1-08, following the restart Sion got into their stride with a strong performances throughout the field helping to keep Ballygunner at bay when they threatened to get on top, final score Cnoc Sion 0-23 Ballygunner 1-18.Junior A Hurling
Following on from their successful campaign the Junior A Hurlers take on Bunmahon in the semi final in Kill on Saturday next at 6pm, best of luck to Pappy and the lads as they endeavour to get to another County final.Under 16 Hurling
The Under 16’s continued their Championship on Friday night and after a difficult game the previous week this team showed great heart against Passage in the club running out three point winners on a scoreline of 3-09 to 0-15, well done to all involved in this much improved team.All Ireland
With the excitement building towards the All Ireland final on September 3rd a great day is planned in the club with the game being shown on the big screens and a chicken dinner being served at approximately 1-30, the atmosphere will be the next best thing to being at Croke Park, prices at €20 Adult chicken dinner plus 3 drinks, €7 child’s chicken dinner, or €10 Adult chicken dinner, tickets available from behind the bar.Tony Forristal Tournament
The 2017 Tony Forristal tournament takes place this Saturday 26th July with the club once again hosting the group games, beat wishes to Dylan butler and Adam O’Connor on the Tony Forristal panel and to Sean Doocey who is on the Sonny Walsh panel.Fixture

August’s Deise draw took place on recently and unfortunately we had no winners this time around, tickets for the next draws are still available from behind the bar or from Kenny Stafford.
