Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

20k Drop Launch

We had an all-star lineup for our launch night in the club on Wednesday last for the 20k drop, we had some words from organiser in chief Kenny Stafford, followed by Chairman Peter Walsh and the final word went to Jim Greene who thanked everyone involved especially our sponsors many of whom were present on the night, Tom from Pallas marketing went through a dry run of the game with Ken McGrath who showed great knowledge to come away with the top prize! Judging from the craic on the night the event is going to be brilliant, tickets are now available from behind the bar or any member priced at €20 or 4 for €60, thanks to everyone who attended and to our all-stars Jim, Ken, Tony and Austin for doing the official launch!

Senior Hurling

The draw for the Senior Hurling Championship has been made with the changes in the County system meaning the first games are pencilled in for early April, Cnoc Sion will play Roanmore, Lismore and Passage in that order in Group C , fixtures will be confirmed at a later date.

Dancing with the Stars Ireland

Former club and county player Martin Geary is urging our club members to vote in support of his niece Anna who is currently a contestant on RTE’s Strictly Come Dancing’. Anna is a very popular multi All Ireland medallist with Cork and has won numerous All Star awards for camogie. She recently featured on the Ireland’s Fittest Family. We are happy to wish Martin’s niece the very best in the contest and urge our members to support her.

Camogie

Mount Sion Camogie coaching continues this week. 8-12 year olds 6-7 pm Mondays in the club hall downstairs in the club house, bring runners.
4-7 year olds 6-7pm Wednesdays in the Carrickpherish sports hall cost €2.
Hope to see all the regulars there and new players are always welcome.

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs.
