The Senior Championship returned on Sunday last in warm conditions against Lismore in Fraher Field, Sion got off to the perfect start a few minutes in when Evan McGrath smashed to the back of the net after good work down the left, good work rate and solid performances at the back gave Sion the edge in this half and they were good value for their five point lead at the break, half time score Cnoc Sion 1-10 Lismore 0-08 , the second half saw Lismore press forward as they sought to get back in the game and when they scored a goal to bring it back to a point Sion gave the perfect response with a Stephen Roche goal, two more goals from Jack Meaney and Martin F O’Neill rounded off the scoring and a good result with excellent performances all round the pitch, full time score Mount Sion 4-17 Lismore 2-16, the result was marred by a bad injury to Alan Kirwan following an accidental collision and we wish Alan all the best in his recovery.
