Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Operation Transformation

The first walk of the 2019 Operation Transformation series took place on Thursday last with over 100 participants doing the 5k loop around the local area, well done to all our walkers and we look forward to seeing you all again on Thursday with registration at 6-30pm and walk starting at 7pm sharp, don’t forget the hi vis vests and hats as a cold snap is expected later in the week.

Condolences

Deepest sympathies to the family of Mrs Betty Cooper who passed away this week, to Rebecca, Michael, Mark, Ben and Hugh and all her extended family we offer our condolences at this sad time, ar Dheis de go raibh a h-anam.

Entertainment

This Saturday night we have a special presentation night in the club with the Eastern and County medals being presented to our football squad, the Galgey family will also be presenting a cheque from the proceeds of the Christmas Day swim to Assissi House, to round off the night Dick and Dave will provide the musical entertainment, looking forward to seeing a good crowd up there for what looks like it’s going to be a great night.

Camogie

Camogie training returns this week with the Under 12’s back on Tuesday 15th in the Presentation Hall 6-7pm with the Under 8’s back on Monday 14th also at 6-7 at the same venue.

Ladies Football

Training for Ladies Football continues on Fridays at 5-45 with players on the pitch for 6-7, this year we will be fielding two teams at both Minor and Under 16 levels and girls between 15 and 18 are always welcome to join our squads,  just call up any Friday to meet the girls and their trainers.

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs. If you have a family event coming up we can cater for all size parties from small private events to large gatherings, we have a spacious function room with private bar available for hire for all occasions including Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Confirmations, Communions, etc, please contact our Bar Manager Michael Ryan for more information on 051-372648 or call up and see him.
