Under 13 Football Final

Our Under 13 Footballers are County Div 3 Champions after an exciting victory in Fraher Field on Saturday last, three goals from Sam Byrne Russell, Jared O’Keeffe and Adam Regan were the difference between the sides and there was great excitement when Joint captains Tommy Walsh and Sam Byrne Russell went up to collect the shield on the steps, well done to all involved in a brilliant campaign.

Camogie

Camogie training continues for Under 10 group Monday 6-7 in astroturf & for Under 14 6-7 in ball alley on both Mondays & Fridays.
Huge congratulations to our Under 12 team that beat Clonea last week in the championship. The girls are out again on Tuesday evening at 6.30pm in Mount Sion against Cappoquin, best of luck to the girls and coaches.

Our Under 10’s are taking part in the Go games at half time during the Waterford Dublin game in Walsh Park, this is a great honour for the girls and best of luck to the Waterford team.

Senior Championship

Senior championship resumes this weekend when Sion take on Abbeyside in Walsh Park on Saturday at 7pm, best of luck to John and the team as they look to make it two wins in a row.

 

Under 11 Tournament

Our Under 11’s took part in the annual Ballyraggert tournament in Kilkenny on saturday and played very well narrowly losing out in the semi final, well done to all the lads and their coaches.

Hands For Life

The Irish Heart Foundation will be running a Hands for Life course in the club on Monday 24th June, this CPR training is open to all coaches and members, numbers are limited, please contact Michael Power for more details and to register.

Condolences

The Club extends it’s sympathy to the O’Connor family, formerly of Ard na Greine, and particularly to club members Eoin O’Connor and his sons, underage players, Adam and Ryan on the death of Eoin’s father Noel of Lismore Park and Noel’s brother Jim O’Connor and his family. The O’Connor family has had a life long association with Mount Sion and we extend our deepest sympathy to Noel’s wife Eileen, his daughter Emer, grand daughter Jade, Noel’s brothers and sisters and the extended O’Connor family. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.

Cul Camps

The annual GAA Cul Camps take place in Mount Sion this year from July 22nd to 26th, bookings are now being taken, for more details regarding bookings etc please see the website or contact our club co-ordinator Peter Walsh. Kelloggs Cul Camps

Tickets are still available for June’s Deise draw and after winning the May jackpot we’re looking for more Mount Sion winners, tickets available from all the usual sources.

School Field

It has come to our attention that dogs are being walked on the school field recently, we would like to remind everyone that for the health and safety of our players and everyone using the facilities dog walking is not permitted under any circumstances on our pitches and we will have signs going up to that effect in the coming weeks.

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs. If you have a family event coming up we can cater for all size parties from small private events to large gatherings, we have a spacious function room with private bar available for hire for all occasions including Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Confirmations, Communions, etc, please contact our Bar Manager Michael Ryan for more information on 051-372648 or call up and see him.
