Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

New Sponsor

Our younger Camogie girls were delighted to recieve their new jerseys which have been kindly sponsored by Eurocorner Cash & Carry, a one stop shop for all your needs just down the road from the club in the Western Industrial Estate (at the roundabout for the NCT centre), Eurocorner Cash & Carry have a huge stock of items at very competitive prices with ample parking outside and we’re delighted that they have come on board as sponsors for our Camogie club, special thanks to owner Sa’adh Shakil for his kind gesture, pictured are some of our girls and coaches with the new jerseys, as usual we’d ask our members to support our sponsors wherever possible.

Under 19 Hurling

Next Sunday sees our first game in the new revised format of Under 19 hurling, our opponents are near neighbours Roanmore and we wish the lads the best of luck at this new age group.

Camogie

Training for the 4-10 group in the hall in Carrickpherish tomorrow (Monday) 6-7  €2 per child or €3 for families, while the 11-15 group train in Mount Sion both Monday and Friday 6-7.
Our Under 13 girls will play the first round of the championship in Mount Sion on Saturday 19th at 3pm against Tallow. All support is welcome.
Huge thanks to Tom Murphy Car Sales also for sponsoring another set of jerseys for our participation in the annual street clean up. We were delighted to receive these at a fabulous reception in the Granville Hotel on Friday last. Balon Sports with Austin Gleeson designed them and they look great.
We will be taking orders this week for the camogie half zips, anyone that wants one can message the Facebook page or contact any of the coaches.

 

Congratulations

Congratulations to well known clubman Clive Power and his wife Michelle on the recent birth of their new daughter Eabha, best wishes on the arrival of the newest member of the Power clan from all in Mount Sion!

Health and Wellbeing

Coming up on Monday 2nd December – ‘Safe Talk’ course will take place, this is a training initiative around suicide prevention and mental health promotion and will be limited to 30 places. More details in the coming weeks.

Entertainment

Back by popular demand the Garth Brooks tribute act returns to the club on Saturday 19th October, there will be no cover charge on the night so come along for what promises to be a great night’s entertainment!

Bingo

Bingo continues in the club this Thursday night, doors at 7 and eyes down at 8! Please see the poster for more details.

Circuit Training

Circuit training continues on Tuesday nights with Pat Kelly, there are only two more weeks left and we are delighted with the response, to ensure your place please contact Michael “Pugs” Power, time 7pm -8pm, class is open to all over 18’s, cost €5

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs. If you have a family event coming up we can cater for all size parties from small private events to large gatherings, we have a spacious function room with private bar available for hire for all occasions including Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Confirmations, Communions, etc, please contact our Bar Manager Michael Ryan for more information on 051-372648 or call up and see him.
