Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Happy New Year

As we say goodbye to 2020 we’d like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year, we look forward with hope that 2021 will prove a whole lot better for all our members and friends, when things are back to normal we hope to have many more initiatives from our Healthy Club project coming through, in the meantime we ask everyone to stay safe as we face into another lockdown and to look out for each other at this difficult time, if anyone needs assistance with grocery shopping, deliveries etc as we go into Level 5, please feel free to contact us through any club member or through social media.

Pat Hayes

It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Pat Hayes earlier this week, Pat was a former Club Secretary and Committee member as well as a great and long time Club Member and supporter. In 2011 while Mayor Pat hosted a reception to honour the 30th anniversary of Mount Sion being the first Waterford team to win the Munster Club Championship, everyone involved on the night were deeply honoured to be recognised in this way. To his wife Bridie, daughter Emer, sons Michael,  Paraic, Mark and Emmett and extended we offer our deepest sympathies. Ar dheis go raibh a anam dílis.

Deise Draw

On Stephen’s day we did an in-house draw for everyone who purchased a Deise draw ticket through us this year. Results are below, well done to all the winners. Once again many thanks to everyone who supported the club this year.

Christmas Day Swim

Well done to all involved in the Billy Galgey Memorial Christmas day swim in Tramore, the lads have raised over €6000 so far for the Waterford and South Kilkenny branch of Down Syndrome Ireland.
