Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Under 15 Feile

Our Under 15 Féile team travelled to Dublin on Saturday last to represent Waterford in the Division 1 competition, having narrowly being pipped at the post in tight matches with Kilmacud Crokes and Ballinastragh Gaels of Wexford victory over Lucan Sarsfields saw them reach the Plate Final against Ballinteer St John’s, we came up just short by a goal against St Johns in the Division 1 Plate Final following a great days hurling, Final score: Cnoc Sion 1-04 St John’s Ballinteer 2-04

Well done to everyone involved who did their club and county proud and to everyone who helped out on the day to maki such a memorable occasion for the boys.

Senior League Final

Despite a promising start on the night in Walsh park our Seniors were beaten in the Senior League final on Friday night, focus is now on the Championship which with our group games now confirmed, first game is against Abbeyside in Fraher Field on Sunday July 31st at 2pm, we’re back at the same venue on Sunday August 7th for our tie against Tallow, also with a 2pm throw in.

Junior A League Final

Our Junior A’s played the Division 6 League Final against Cappoquin on Saturday evening and unfortunately the men from the county proved too strong on the night, Championship starts on 23rd July against Kilmacthomas in Walsh Park.

Camogie

Our Under 12’s received a walkover against An Rinn last week so they advance further in the championship.
Well done to our Under 10 and Under 8 girls who participated in the De La Salle blitz on Saturday afternoon, great performances from all teams involved.

Under 12’s have a challenge game against Portlaw on Monday at 18.30 ( normal training time) and Saturday challenge game against Gaultier at 11am.
Our Under 14 girls play St Declans Ardmore in Mount Sion at 7pm on Thursday evening. All support welcome.

Below are the camogie training days/time.
4-6s – Saturday mornings with the Cúl blue academy.
7-8s + 9-10s – Mondays from 6-7pm in the alley and all weather.
12s – Mondays from 7:15 to 8.15pm in the alley and the all weather.
13s – Wednesdays from 7-8.30pm in the alley and the all weather.

Under 15s – Tuesdays from 6-7pm in the alley and the all weather.
Please bring hurleys and helmets.
New girls always welcome.

Cul Blues

Cúl Blues Academy for 4-6 boys and girls continues Saturday in the club. New boys and girls always welcome.

Hurleys & helmets please (these can be provided for training if child hasn’t got any)
Wild willow cafe will also be on site.

Juvenile Training

 Juvenile training has returned on Saturday mornings, Fun Hurling Coaching for our under 7’s and 8’s boys group is at 11am (those born in 2015 and 2014), followed by our under 9’s and 10’s at 12pm (those born in 2013 and 2012).
