Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Senior Hurling
Cnoc Sion 1-25
Lismore 1-13
The Senior Hurling Championship continued in Fraher Field on Saturday last when Lismore were the opposition with a place in the quarter final next weekend at stake, Sion started brightly and dominated the opening exchanges and a Donal Power goal midway through the half helped put them well in control at the break despite Lismore raising the green flag just at the whistle, some excellent individual displays in the second half saw Sion ease past the challenge of the Lismore men to earn a quarter final against local rivals Roanmore next weekend.Minor Hurling
The Fairway Coaches sponsored Minors booked their place in the Championship semi final with a good win away to Lismore on Wednesday last, they now play Passage in SETU on Wednesday night, please note tickets for this game are available on universe.comJunior Hurling
The Junior B Hurlers were just unlucky to lose out to De La Salle in the club on Thursday despite a late rally which nearly saw them snatch the game at the end, well done to ll involved over the year, the Junior A quarter final was postponed due to bad weather conditions and now takes place on Monday in Tramore against Passage at 6-30pm.Camogie
Tough luck to the Under 16 girls who lost out to De La Salle on during the week, a hard result but the girls will bounce back, huge congratulations to our Under 12 girls and their coaches who qualified for the C shield final also, hard luck to Ferrybank who put up a huge fight and gave us a great sporting game, some lovely hurlers on both teams for the future, thanks to Feerrybank also for hosting our Under 8’s and 10’s in their blitz on Sunday morning.
