Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Community Spirit Award
What a night for our own John Flynn on Friday night, as part of the inaugural Late Late Show GAA special John was nominated to represent Waterford for his contribution to club and county, it was a special moment when John was announced as the winner of the Community Spirit award, John is such an integral part of our club over many years and nobody in Mount Sion was surprised to see him honoured in such a special way, well done to John, Dessie, Aileen , Kevin, Sarah and all his extended family and friends on this amazing achievement!Senior League
Cnoc Sion 0-13
Ballygunner 0-12
The first game of 2024’s Senior League took place on Sunday morning last and conditions in the wake of Storm Kathleen were challenging to say the least, Ballygunner provided the opposition on the morning and opted to play against the breeze in the first half, scores were hard to come by in the conditions but Sion took advantage and went in ahead by the minimun at the break, second half frees from Austin Gleeson put Sion in the driving seat and despite a late comeback and some long range points from Ballygunner towards the end they had enough to start the campaign off on a winning note, final score Cnoc Sion 0-13 Ballygunner 0-12.
