Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Senior Hurling

The Seniors continued their good run in the league on Friday they welcomed Abbeyside to the club, a tough battle ensued with Sion coming out on top scoring an impressive 26 points to Abbeyside’s 2-13, they have a break of three weeks now before they take on Passage in the same venue.

Juvenile Hurling

We are in the middle of some very busy weeks for our Juvenile teams , during the week all age groups from Under 6 to Under 12 played against Tramore , Passage, and Kilmacow among others, some great hurling on display and commitment from parents and mentors is exceptional, kept eye on social media for updates!

Also during the week we had a lovely training session where our kids invited their parents to training.

Thanks to all the boys and girls. Thanks to the parents who really put in a fantastic effort throughout.

Finally special thanks to Waterford GAA GDC and Mount Sion Hurler Austin Gleeson for putting on the session.

Camogie

Well done to our Under 16 girl Jamie Stafford who was part of the Waterford panel in the All Ireland Shield Championship against Wexford, also to are who represented the Ursuline in the primary game on Sunday at the Munster final.

Huge well done to Candice O’Sullivan who represented the club at the Feile skills competition on Saturday in Ballydurn. A great day was had by all.

Deise Draw

This year’s Deise Draw starts in July, there are six draws in total with the club benefitting from every ticket sold, tickets are available from all the usual sources and from Club Co-ordinator Kenny Stafford.

Darts Night

A night of darts with Dave “Chizzy” Chisnall – PDC professional darts player “Game On” Chizzy will take place in the club on Friday June 7th, organised in aid of cystic fibrosis, Dave will try his luck against the local talent and play some exhibition darts, tickets are available on ticketstop.
