Mount Sion GAA Club Notes
Under 15 Feile
The Under 15’s took part in the Feile over two nights during the week with the hope of qualifying to represent the county later on in the month, wins against De La Salle and Roanmore and a narrow defeat to Ballygunner saw them through to Wednesday’s semi final where they saw off Clan na Gael to set up a final against Ballygunner, as in the previous match there was only a puck of the ball between the sides with Ballygunner just edging the final, tough luck lads, well done on some great performances over the two nights.Junior C Hurling
Well done to our Junior ‘C’ team who competed in the Kilmacthomas Noel Kiely Memorial 7’s on Saturday last. It was a case of Back to the Future with some well known names lacing up the boots once more! The lads had some great matches against Ballyduff Lower, Glenmore, Windgap, Carrick Swans, Kilrossanty and Kilmacthomas.
A great day was had and thanks to Kilmac for such a well run event.
Well done to the coaches Willy, Scratchy and Nailor.
Camogie
It was a busy week for the Camogie club this week, our Under 14 girls had a great result over Butlerstown on Thursday night, our Under 10 girls played Mooncoin on Friday, there were some fantastic displays shown on both pitches by all teams, well done to the girls and their coaches and special thanks to Collette for bringing her girls in, special thanks to Laura and Kayleigh for reffing both games, our Under 8 and 10 girls took part in the De La Salle blitz on Saturday in glorious sunshine, there were some fine displays of camogie all round, thanks to De La Salle for their hospitality.Huge thanks to Waterford Camogie for inviting our Under 10 girls to play at half time of the senior game on Saturday in Walsh Park, they had a fantastic time with doing Guard of Honor for the girls, playing against Butlerstown and meeting their idols after the game, well done to all involved.
