Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Under 11 City League

Our Under 11s got off to a great start in the City League with a win over Mooncoin last Friday night in the club on a scoreline of 3-04 to 1-02 , well done  to the lads and their coaches for this good result. Next up is Ballygunner in two weeks time.

Under 8s

Well done to the under 8s who played out in Carriganore on Saturday last in the Go Games blitz . We had 2 teams competing on the day and all the lads played very well , Mount Sion blue team panel was , Dillon Ryan , Jared o Keeffe , Mark O Connor , Tommy Delaney , Ben Hennesey , Sean Reilly and Dean Cullen , this team played matches against St Saviours , Butlerstown  and Passage .
Mount Sion white team panel for the day was , Adam Regan , Alex Walsh , Adam Cummins , Nathan Manuel Obe , Joseph Obasogie , Evan Flanagan , Ross Byrne and Sam Byrne Russell , they played matches against Ardmore , De la Salle and Ferrybank . Thanks to the organisers for such a well run tournament .

Birthday Greetings

Happy Birthday to Michael  Quinn who celebrated his 40th last week with a surprise party for family and friends , Mittens is looking as good as he did 20 years ago and we’d all like to know his secret !

Easter Mini Camp

Dont forget the  Easter Mini Camp on Thursday and Friday the 17 and 18 of April , open to all 5-12 year olds the camp runs from 10am to 2pm each day ,bring a packed lunch and a change of clothes , hurleys and helmets will be provided for those that need them , lots of fun and activities , no charge . Deise Draw

The first Deise draw for 2014 will take place on April 25th. This is one month later than previous years and will run until December 2014.. Tickets will be available from Josie Evans or from the bar. Please contact Josie Evans (087-0686700) to join and more importantly to make sure you are in with a chance to scoop the top prize of €10,000!!! . Tickets are €10 per month for nine months. You can either pay up front or per month by leaving the money behind the bar. 70% of the money raised will go directly back to Mount Sion. Best of luck to all our ticketholders!

Last Man Standing

There was no Last Man Standing this week due to the FA Cup and with only seven left we could have a winner before the end of the season !

Membership

Membership for this year is now overdue , all fees can be paid at the bar or please contact Paul Fanning as soon as possible , all rates are up on the membership page of the website.

Darts & Cards

Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.
