Juvenile Hurling
The season is starting to get into full swing for our young hurlers with games coming thick and fast each week, on Tuesday night the Under 12’s got their City League off to a winning start when Mullinavat were the visitors to he club, facing a bigger team our lads ran their hearts out and were deserving of their 3-06 to 2-02 win, on Saturday morning one of our Under 9 teams played De La Salle while unfortunately the opponents of the other team weren’t available, well done to all involved on their winning starts.Moving On
Best wishes to Brian Sinnott who is moving on to greener pastures from the bar in the club, Brian is a well known and liked character and will be missed from the centre, good luck to Brian from everyone in Mount Sion in his new job.Condolences
Deepest sympathies to the Quinn family on the sad passing of Peggy during the week, Peggy was a great Mount Sion woman for many years and will be sadly missed, to her husband Frankie, sons and daughters and extended family we offer our condolences, ar Dheis De go raibh a h-anam.
Commemoration Night
Cnoc Sion GAA Club presents an evening of music to commemorate the 1916 Rising in the Mount Sion Centre on Saturday 23rd April 100 years to the day from the start of the Rising, music from Eriu Nua with tickets at €6, half of which goes to the Juvenile Club, available from behind the bar or from Tina Gleeson and Tucker Healy.Deise Draw
The Deise Draw of 2016 is back up and running with the first of nine draws having already taken place, this is one of the main fundraisers for the club and we would encourage as many members and their families as possible to participate, as well as helping your club you are also in a great draw with many good prizes on offer. Deise Day 2016 takes place in Punchestown Racecourse on April 30th with proceeds being split 50/50 between Waterford GAA and the Waterford Ladies Development fund, tickets per person at €150 and a great day’s entertainment is planned, even if you can’t attend on the day a raffle will take place, tickets are €20 each or 3 for €50, 1st prize is a Scandinavian Cruise, 2nd prize 4 tickets for Bruce Springsteen in Croke Park, 3rd Prize 2 All-Ireland Hurling Tickets & 4th Prize 2 All-Ireland Football tickets.
