The Annual General Meeting of the club took place on Sunday last in the centre and as usual there was a lot of frank discussion on topics during the year both on and off the pitch. Having been in charge of the Seniors for the past two years Ken McGrath has decided to step down due to personal commitments, Nicholas Mackey was ratified as our Senior manager for 2017, Nicholas has coached many adult and juvenile teams over the years and we wish him and his selectors Jim Greene and Philly Flynn all the best for the coming year. Special tribute was paid to Josie Evans as she steps down as fundraising officer after many years of sterling work.A special award was also made to Sean Power in recognition of his achievement leading the Waterford Under 21’s to All Ireland glory. Christmas Day Swim
The inaugural Christmas morning swim takes in Tramore Slip at 11.00am in memory of the late Billy Galgey, please note it’s the slip not the pier as previously stated, we wouldn’t like to see swimsuit clad Mount Sion people wandering around Tramore putting people off their Christmas dinners! The annual Stephen’s Day quiz takes place once again in the club starting at 5pm, this is a time honoured tradition for many years and is always well supported, please contact Peter Roche for more details.New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance
The New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner dance take place again this year to welcome in 2017, this is a great occasion to see in the New Year with friends and family in a safe atmosphere, music from Avalon and a three course meal are included, tickets are available on a first come first serve basis at €37.50 and are available behind the bar and from Tina.Mount Sion Clubhouse
