“The Unconquerable Keane” a book written by David Smyth on the great John Keane a few years back is now available as an e-book, after many attempts that didn’t work out to David’s satisfaction he has successfully transferred his book “The Unconquerable Keane” to the most popular eBook formats viz., ePub and Mobi. David also loaded the book into various eReaders e.g. Samsung Tablet, iPad, Kobo, Kindle etc and the results are quite pleasing. It reads well in all formats and David has kindly offered it to the general public as a gift – free gratis and for nothing.
Prospective readers should note that it is not an exact copy of the print book. It has been necessary to omit the tables showing John Keane’s history of matches played during his career, this is because tables don’t transfer well to an eBook format. There are also some minor changes to the text correcting some typos etc. The major change in the book is the replacement of the black and white pictures with colour pictures and the omission of some pictures and the inclusion of new ones. Included also are two new anecdotes revealing an aspect of John not covered in the print book.
Once again David wishes to state he is giving away the book as a gift – Free of Charge. All those who wish to have a copy should send an eMail to TheUnconquerableKeane@gmail.com letting David know the format required (ePub or Mobi) and/or the eReader on which it will be read.David will then forward a copy of the book.
This book is a wonderful resource for all hurling people and sports fans alike and we at the club are deeply grateful to David for his marvellous gesture, David has also been colourising some old photos and we are hoping to be posting in the near future some with a Mount Sion interest.
