Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Under 16 Hurling

The Under 16 Hurlers bowed out of the Championship in the semi final stage against Ballygunner in Abbeyside on Thursday night last, in a tight game there was only the puck of the ball in it and this young team really put it up to Ballygunner men and were in the game until the dying minutes, final score Cnoc Sion 1-14 Ballygunner 1-18, well done to all involved with such a young squad who will be rearing to go again for 2019.

Under 12 Hurling

Our Under 12’s fielded two teams in the Carrick Swans Craig Walsh Tournament on Sunday last, the A team won the tournament outright beating the hosts in the final while the B team narrowly lost out in the Shield final, there is some great work being done with this group at the moment and this can be seen in the results, well done to all involved !

Cabaret

There is a Cabaret night on Saturday 6th in Mount Sion in aid of the camogie club with MC Jim Greene and performances from club members with a special appearance from the Mount Sion school choir hot on the heels of their recent London adventures , starts at 8.30pm  €5 entry,  kids are welcome too,  hope to see everyone there for a great night’s entertainment.

Camogie

The camogie Under 8’s will be now in the hall in Carrickpherish Gracedieu (beside Educate Together school) for the winter starting Monday 1st of October 6-7.. cost is €2 per child or €3 per family.. the u12 group are training Tuesdays 7-8 and Saturday mornings 12pm still in the Mount Sion grounds for the next few weeks.

Minor Hurling

Preparations are ongoing for the Minor final next Saturday and everyone involved with the club wishes Pat and his team all the very best as they push for the club’s first Minor title since 2008.

Deise Draw

September’s Deise draw took place in Gaultier on Wednesday night and unfortunately we had no winners this time round, tickets for the final draw are available from all the usual sources.

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs.
