Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Senior League

Cnoc Sion 1-16

Ballygunner 1-21

Ballygunner were the visitors to the club on Sunday morning with a place in the semi finals of the Senior league at stake, a competitive first half saw little between the teams with Sion using thier possesion well to tip away at the points, Ballygunner netted just before the break to give them a two point advantage, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-09 Ballygunner 1-08, Sion started well in the second half and even though they did get a goal Ballygunner pulled away towrds the end of the game to finish out winners by a five point margin , final score Cnoc Sion 1-16 Ballygunner 1-21, next game is the Championship in a few weeks time.

Under 13 Football

Our Under 13 Footballers captained by Marc O’Connor won the Div 3 final against Sacred Heart on Monday morning last, well done to all involved! The lads now progress to the County final next Saturday against Clashmore/Kinsalebeg.

Camogie

Camogie training 6-7pm tomorrow for 4-10 group.
The 11-14 group training 6-7 Mondays & Fridays.
Our Under 12’s start their championship on Tuesday evening in Clonea at 6.30 against Clonea, best of luck to the girls and their coaches, finnaly Camogie hats are now available for collection for anyone who ordered them.

Cul Camps

The annual GAA Cul Camps take place in Mount Sion this year from July 22nd to 26th, bookings are now being taken, for more details regarding bookings etc please see the website or contact our club co-ordinator Peter Walsh. Kelloggs Cul Camps

Deise Draw

Tickets are still available for June’s Deise draw and after winning the May jackpot we’re looking for more Mount Sion winners, tickets available from all the usual sources.

Condolences

Deepest sympathies to the family of Mrs. Veronica O’Brien who passed away on Saturday last, our thoughts are with her daughter Karen and family at this sad time, ar Dheis De go raibh a h-anam.

Hands For Life

The Irish Heart Foundation willl be running a Hands for Life course in the club on Monday 24th June, this CPR training is open to all coaches and members, numbers are limited, please contact Michael Power for more details and to register.

School Field

It has come to our attention that dogs are being walked on the school field recently, we would like to remind everyone that for the health and safety of our players and everyone using the facilities dog walking is not permitted under any circumstances on our pitches and we will have signs going up to that effect in the coming weeks.

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs.
