Senior Hurling Championship
Cnoc Sion 0-22
Abbeyside 3-15
The second round of the Senior championship saw Sion face off against Abbeyside on Saturday evening last in Walsh Park, Abbeyside got off to the better start finding the net within the second minute to give them the early advantage, Sion did well to get back into the game and were within a couple of points before Abbeyside once more raised the green flag to help give them a commanding lead at the break, half time score Cnoc Sion 0-10 Abbeyside 2-10, Sion had their best period of play early in the second half when they scored five points without reply to get within a point but a break in play killed of the momentum and Abbeyside were able to get bck into the game, Abbeyside managed to score another goal which ultimately proved to be the difference between the sides as Sion just couldn’t reduce the deficit and the game ended up in a two point victory for Abbeyside, final score Cnoc Sion 0-22 Abbeyside 3-15, next game is scheduled for weekend of July 27th/28th.Junior A Hurling

Roanmore 3-11
The Junior A hurlers returned to winning ways with an excellent result in Walsh Park on Friday last as they scored five goals to see off local rivals Roanmore, next game is against Ballydurn on Thursday night.Junior B Hurling

St. Mollerans 3-10
The Junior B’s travelled to Carrickbeg on Wednesday last and came away winners by a three point margin, two goals from the Eric Hoban and one from Jordan Roche helped make the difference with very good displays by the full back line, Jonny Flynn was very busy in the middle of the field and a very good save by Bill Wall at the end kept Sion in the driving seat, final score 3-13 to 3-10.Under 14 Hurling

Portlaw/Ballyduff 3-06
The Under 14’s took on Portlaw/Ballyduff in the Eastern Final on Wednesday last and with some top class performances all around the pitch and a brilliant scoring display from Lee Flanagan they ran out worthy winners and now progress on to the County final, well done to all involved.Feile Skills
In what was a great week for young Lee Flanagan after helping the Under 14’s to a county final during the week he was second overall in the feile Skills in Abbotstown on Saturday, this is a fantastic achievement for one of our promising young players and a proud day for his family and club.Street Clean-up
The annual Tom Murphy Car Sales street clean up takes place in the Carrickpherish road on Wednesday at 6pm, this is a great way for the club to help in our local community and we would hope to see another good turn out from our members.Camogie
Training tomorrow(Monday) 6-7pm weather permitting for all ages & Friday 6-7pm for the Under14 group.Our Under 12’s had another great win against Cappoquin on Tuesday night in the championship.
Our Under 10 girls took part in the Go Games in Walsh Park at half time of the Waterford Senior Camogie game against Dublin. We had a great day & a great battle against Clonea. Well done to the senior girls on their great win.Best wishes to one of our Under 10 girls Lily O’Riordan who is moving away so Saturday was her last game with the club. She was a great asset to us and will be missed.
Five Star Hurling Flag
Mount Sion school recieved a Five Star Hurling Flag for the schools commitment and dedication to our national game during the week. Two of our Senior hurlers Austin Gleeson and Stephen Roche came in to hoist the flag. Includedin the photo also are Willy Power and Paul Flanagan(school coaches). CHAMPS week was held in school during the week with some great yard league finals taking place. The highlight was the 5th class on Friday. Both teams could not be seperated after Extra time. Cul Camps

It has come to our attention that dogs are being walked on the school field recently, we would like to remind everyone that for the health and safety of our players and everyone using the facilities dog walking is not permitted under any circumstances on our pitches and we will have signs going up to that effect in the coming weeks.Mount Sion Clubhouse
