Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Paddy Murphy Tournament

The third annual Paddy “Moremiles” Murphy Minor Hurling tournament took place in the club on Saturday last, De La Salle, O’Loughlin Gaels and Piltown were the visitors, Sion’s first game was a draw againt De La Salle followed by wins against O’Loughlins and Piltown to set up a final against Piltown, the hosts were in charge throughout the final and with Ben Frisby on top form up front Sion ran out easy winners to retain the trophy, following the game Paddy’s son Peader spoke about how proud he’d be to see such good young hurlers coming up in the club, thanks to everyone who helped out on the day to for such a well run tournament.

Deise Draw

June’s Deise draw took place during the week and Mount Sion had another winner to keep up our good run in 2019, well done to Eddie Wall who won €150, tickets are still available for the draws from all the usual outlets.

Minor Football

The Minors bowed out of the Football championship on Wednesday night last where they gave a very credible performance against Cois Bride in Fraher Field just losing out to a last minute goal when they had hit the crossbar just moments earlier, well done to all on a good campaign and now the lads are concentrating on the Hurling Championship which starts in the coming weeks.

Street Clean-up

Thanks to everyone who took part in the street cleanup in Carrickpherish on Wednesday last sponsored by Tom Murphy Car sales.

Camogie

Camogie training 6-7pm Monday
Our Under 12’s are away to Brickey Rangers on Tuesday 2nd of July at 6.30pm,  best of luck to all involved.
Anyone who has ordered our hats must collect them ASAP.

Cul Camps

The annual GAA Cul Camps take place in Mount Sion this year from July 22nd to 26th, bookings are now being taken, for more details regarding bookings etc please see the website or contact our club co-ordinator Peter Walsh. Kelloggs Cul Camps

Mount Sion Clubhouse

Our club house is the perfect venue for all your needs.
