Return To Play

Hurling coaching returns for all our juvenile teams next week beginning 26th April, looking forward to seeing all our young players finally back on our pitches after such a long time, new players are always welcome for both our hurling and camogie teams, keep an eye on our social media for coaching dates, venues and times. If anyone has questions or queries please message our facebook page and the relevant lead coach will get back to you. All activities will be in line with the GAA return to play guidelines.

Online Bingo

Online Bingo continues on Thursday nights and Tina reports that its been a big success so far ,  remember anyone can sign up for the following week’s game at the link on the club force app. Contact Tina for any enquiries Bingo

Wild Willow Cafe

The Wild Willow food truck has been a lovely addition to the club grounds and we’re delighted to see it getting great support, if you’re up around at the playground or just in the vicinity why not call in on Saturdays and Sundays between 11 and 3 and sample some lovely homemade cookies and great coffee to take away !

National Club Draw

Tickets can now be purchased for the National Club Draw on the “Clubforce” App. Tickets are €10 and 100% of the money goes back to the club. Prizes include a Renault Clio car, cash, vouchers, all Ireland ticket Packages etc. ,draw will take place on Friday 4th June.

Condolences

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Jimmy Butler of Butlerstown and formerly of Roanmore Park during the week, Jimmy was a player, mentor and supporter of Mount Sion all his life, playing on the winning minor hurling team of 1950. To Jimmy’s wife Eileen, sons Shane, Kevin and Stephen, daughters Susan, Louise and Sinead, sister Peggy and brother Paddy, we send our deepest condolences.

Sport Ireland Diversity and Inclusion Policy: Survey

Sport Ireland recognises that sport can make an important contribution to economic and social cohesion and a more integrated society by using the potential of sport for social inclusion, integration and equal opportunities, whilst emphasising the total unacceptability of discrimination in any form. In order to broaden the scope of our work in the area of Diversity and Inclusion, Sport Ireland is seeking to develop a Diversity and Inclusion policy, the content of which will be informed by a widespread consultation and research process. The Diversity and Inclusion policy document will include tangible targets and actions areas against which Sport Ireland, its funded organisations and partners can work to promote inclusion and respect diversity in relation to participation in sport and physical activity. The specific focus groups for this research are: people with a disability, LGBTI+ community and minority ethnic communities including Travellers. The research seeks to ensure that the voices of these groups are heard and that their feedback will help to shape the Diversity and Inclusion Policy and future projects/ initiatives:

 

Foróige Careers Seminars

Career Coaching Clinics will allow young people to ask mentors questions about professions they may be considering for the future. Many young people have missed out on work experience and will be considering different subjects that will guide their career choices. The aim of the Clinic is to demonstrate that career paths can vary and to allow young people an opportunity to  hear different professional experiences from the same field. Real stories in an interactive platform that will inform, encourage and inspire. See attached poster for more information. Membership

Membership/juvenile registration is now live and can be done through the Clubforce app or by following the link below. Clubforce Registration. Thanks to everyone who has paid their membership already, our club registrar Paul Galgey is available to answer any questions regarding membership and is available for anyone who may not be able to pay online, he can also answer questions about the 5 and 10 year membership schemes.

Development

We would ask as many members as possible to join the Development Donation scheme, at this current time our only revenue is this scheme and membership. Anyone wishing to pay membership or join the Donation Scheme please contact Peter Walsh.
