Senior Hurling Championship

De La Salle 0-14
The Seniors took on De La Salle in their first Championship game of 2021 in Walsh Park on Saturday last, Sion took first blood following good work from Alan Kirwan through the middle which saw Donal Power pounce to rattle the net in the second minute, De La Salle took control for most of the half but were never able to capitalise on that dominance and Sion were able to get within a point at the break, half time score Cnoc Sion 1-05 De La Salle 0-09, Sion notched up a gear in the second half dominating in key areas of the pitch and the result was sealed when Stephen Roche struck the ball low to the back of the net following great work down the right from John Kennedy, a very impressive performance all round which now sets up an intriguing tie with Dungarvan next week to decide who tops the group. It was a disappointing night for the Junior A team in St Saviours on Friday night last when despite a valiant fightback they were unable to overcome local rivals Roanmore, next game is Friday when they take on Kilmacthomas in St Mollerans.Junior B Hurling
The Junior B’s took on Naomh Pol on Thursday last and as usual when playing the parish a physical encounter ensued, Sion though drawing on their mix of experience and youthful energy proved too strong in the end and ran out comfortable winners, next game in a couple of weeks.Camogie
Our girls train this Monday in Mount Sion at 6-7pm. Our Under 14 girls play a challenge match against Butlerstown on Monday evening at 5.45pm while our Under 12’s progress to a semi final due to Ferrybank giving us a by last week, that game will go ahead on Wednesday evening at 6.30pm against Butlerstown in Mount Sion. All support welcome and best of luck to the girls and their coaches.Three of our Under 14 girls, Lauren O’Sullivan, Mollie Meaney and Kayleigh McGrath are part of the Waterford team who play Kilkenny in the All Ireland Under 14 final on Sunday afternoon in Tipperary, wishing them all the best of luck from everyone in Mount Sion.

Under 13 Football
Well done our Under 13 footballers who had quite the win on Monday night in the club against The Nire, credit to all involved for keeping the tradition of football alive in the club.Healthy Club Walk
Healthy Club is back this Tuesday night with the walking Club returning, walk starts at 7pm and there will be a bucket on the night for donations to help buy a new lawnmower for the community playground.Fixtures

8 & 9 Year Olds – Saturday 11-12pm – Club Pitch , Wednesday 6-7pm
10 & 11 Year Olds – Saturday 11-12pm Club Pitch , Wednesday 6-7pm.
