Mount Sion GAA Club Notes

Dinner Dance

A date for your diaries, Saturday October 22nd the Club’s 90th Anniversary Dinner Dance will take place in the Tower Hotel, Music by Brass &Co. Tickets €50 each. For further information please contact Tina, Séamie, Staffy or Iggy.

Family Fun Day

The Mount Sion Family Fun Day takes place this year on Saturday August 6th in the club, a great day’s fun for all the family is guaranteed, see the poster and social media for further details.

Deise Super Draw

July’s Deise Super Draw took place in the club on Wednesday last and we had one winner , well done to Ricky Freeman who won €100, thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and tickets are available for the next draw from all the usual sources.

Junior A Hurling

First game of the Junior Hurling Championship takes place on Saturday July 23rd at 1-45pm in Walsh Park against Kilmacthomas, this is an all ticket game with tickets available on the Universe app, Tickets, best of luck to all involved and looking forward to seeing a good support on the day.

Under 13 Hurling

Well done to our Under 13’s who travelled to Lismore on Wednesday where both teams played out an exciting draw in a great game.
Thanks to all in Lismore for hosting us and thanks also to all the parents who travelled in support and for helping out with transport.

Under 15 Hurling

The Under 15’s made the long trip to Ballyduff Upper on Saturday morning last for their Championship game, the journey was made worthwhile with a hard fought win, well done to Willy and the lads whose hard work over the year is starting to pay off.

New Arrivals

The stork was busy this past week in the extended Mount Sion family, congratulations to Conor Quinn and partner Sinead on the birth of their son Fiachra, and to Damien Hurley and Aoife who also had a boy, Frankie, best wishes to all.

Camogie

Hard luck to our Under 14 girls who were beaten by Brickey Rangers on Thursday night.

Our Under 12 girls play Brickeys at 6.30pm in Brickey Rangers on Thursday 21st
Below are the camogie training days/time.

Under 4-6’s – Saturday mornings with the Cúl blue academy.
Under 7-8’s + 9-10’s – Mondays from 6-7pm in the alley and all weather.
Under 12’s – Mondays from 7:15 to 8.15pm in the alley and the all weather.
Under 13’s – Wednesdays from 7-8.30pm in the alley and the all weather.

Under 15’s – Tuesdays from 6-7pm in the alley and the all weather.
Please bring hurleys and helmets.

Cúl Blues Academy for 4-6 boys and girls continues Saturday in the club. New boys and girls always welcome.

Juvenile Training

 Juvenile training has returned on Saturday mornings, Fun Hurling Coaching for our under 7’s and 8’s boys group is at 11am (those born in 2015 and 2014), followed by our under 9’s and 10’s at 12pm (those born in 2013 and 2012).
