Senior

For 2023 we are delighted to have Pinergy on board as our Sponsors for our Senior teams, Pinergy are the suppliers of green energy to homes, businesses and farms throughout Ireland and we are delighted to be associated with them.

In 2022 we were in a group with Abbeyside and Tallow. It began for us on the last weekend of July versus Abbeyside in Fraher Field.We won with plenty to spare against a weekend opposition.The following week we were out once again in the same venue against Tallow beating them comprehensively and easily qualifying for the quarter finals. Another trip to Dungarvan followed when we were drawn against Lismore  who we dispatched after a spirited performance. We were now into a semi final where we were paired with our neighbours and old foes De La Salle, the game proved a tight affair with both teams having their moments before Sion finally put some daylight between teams to run out eventual winners. We were now back in a County Final for the first time since 2014 against our greatest rivals Ballygunner. On the day the weather decided to take a turn for the worst with torrential rain and strong winds necessitating a  number of pitch inspections. Finally the decision was made to play the game despite the continuing wind and rain. The game began at a ferocious pace with no quarter being given by either side, we had our chammies in both halves but a magnificent performance by their goalie gave them the upper hand allowing to build on their lead and they ran out nine point winners in the end. An excellent season saw us just pipped at the post but there ere many positives to be had as we continue on into 2023.
