Q3. Club Honours: To be honest, I can’t recall. But I am happy that I won every major honour in the game including many Senior hurling and football championships with Mount Sion.
Q4. When and where did you first play hurling (who was your coach, friend etc.)? Mount Sion Primary, Br. O’Connor was our coach.
Q5. Childhood heroes: John Keane, Mick Mackey, Paddy Dowling and Andy Fleming.
Q6. Your Biggest Fear? Kilkenny Cats!!
Q7. What is your Favourite Food? Steak and Onions.
Q8. What is your Favourite Film? The Godfather Trilogy.
Q9. What is your Favourite Music? Bing Crosby.
Q10. What is your Favourite Holiday Destination? Tramore or Woodstown.
Q11. Best sporting event Watched/Witnessed: 2004 Munster Final.
Q12. Best Mount Sion memory? The 1974 Final will always be very sweet.
Q13. What has been your greatest moment in sport? Obviously, my goal in 1959 Final will always be a highlight.
Q14. What is your favourite Hurling ground? Thurles.
Q15. What celebrity do you think you most look like and why? Frankenstein!!
Q16. What is the toughest part of your sporting life? Getting fit because I like my pies!!
Q17. Least memorable game and why? 1957 All Ireland, should have won, the better team lost.
Q18. If you were an animal, what kind would you be? A walrus, same look and same size!!
Q19. In your opinion what is the worst invention ever created? Why? The mobile phone – I can’t use it.
Q20. What is your secret skill? Irish Dancing – I was quite good in my day.
Q21. If there was a transfer market, what player would you like to see on the Waterford Panel? Why? Christy Ring in my time and Tommy Walsh at the minute.
Q22. If you had 3 people around for dinner, who would they be and why? I don’t have anyone around for dinner. I can’t cook!
Q23. Who is the best & worst dressed on your team, why? Martin Óg was the best dressed and Taylor O’Brien came a close second!
Q24. How do you relax away from sport? Watch television.
Q25. If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be? Why? Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry – There’s a days shooting in every parish.
Q26. What rule would you change in the GAA and why? The rule that charges too much for tickets!!
Q27. Who do you admire most in Mount Sion, why? Pat Fanning and John Keane – They personified what Mount Sion meant and still means.
Q28. Advise to younger players…. Pull on the ball & Hurl on!
Q29. In ten years time, I hope to be ……… Looking down, watching Mount Sion become Senior Hurling Champions!
