Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes
1981 Team to be Honoured
The members of the 1981 Munster Club Championship Team will be honoured by Mayor Pat Hayes on Friday 25th November in the City Hall. We were the first Waterford team to capture the title and its befitting that the players are being honoured on its 30th anniversary. The Mayor and Club are extending an invitation to all members of the panel and club officials of the 81’ team to attend the reception in the City Hall. Due to limited space we are restricted in the number of people that can attend in the City Hall. So for that reason only the 1981 players and officials can go to City Hall. But all family, friends and club members are more than welcome to join us back in the club afterwards to re-call the famous victory. The reception is on Friday 25th November at 7pm in City Hall and then back to the club. We hope to see you all there.

With only three nights left in The Poker League we had Ricky Freeman and Kenny Stafford extend their leads at first and second respectively. Richie Roche moved into third with Wayne Ryan and Alan Brett two points behind. Derek English sits in sixth place and Shane Forristal and Peter Penkert following in the final two spots. But no places are certain and it is anyone’s game with nine players not in the top eight chasing a final table appearance in December! The top 8 will automatically qualify for the final table in December. There will also be a one off freeze-out €15 euro game for people who don’t make the top 8 and who have played more than 6 games in the league. The top 2 places will win a ticket to the final table, making a final table of 10. All the weekly league scores and overall leader board are on the website.
