Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes
Mayor’s Reception
Last Friday night the members of the 1981 Victorious Munster Club Team were honoured by Mayor Pat Hayes in the City Hall. Vice-Chairman of the club Kevin Ryan remembered specially the men that have passed and great tragedy that spurred the club to respond in such a positive way. Captain Eamonn Kehoe spoke briefly and thanked the players, trainer and selectors. Trainer of the team Frankie Walsh also thanked the players and produced a little piece of history with a small notebook with all the results, scores and names of players who went on holidays over that year!! And of course what would it have been without Josie Evans, who sang “The Mount Sion Song”. Back in the club, the players, families and friends reminisced over the famous victory as they watched the game on the big screen and were presented with a special copy of the game. We would like to thank Mayor Hayes and his staff at the City Hall for their hospitality on the night. Also to Michael Ryan and his bar staff in the club, who are always excellent and professional. Pictures of the night are on the wesbite. See http://mountsiongaa.ie/gallery/Referee’s Course

Wayne Ryan is in third place overall on 41 points with Galgey, Richie Roche and Alan Brett all within one point. Derek English and Shane Forristal finish off the leader-board in seventh and eighth place. Two nights remain and the question is who will make the last rally to grab themselves a final table spot? The top 8 will automatically qualify for the final table in December. There will also be a one off freeze-out €15 euro game for people who don’t make the top 8 and who have played more than 6 games in the league. The top 2 places will win a ticket to the final table, making a final table of 10. All the weekly league scores and overall leader board are on the website.
