Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes

Deise Draw

We held our annual in house Deise Draw last Friday night, which is a way of thanking all our ticket holders who support the club by the Deise Draw tickets. The following won prizes in the main draw: Liz Bolger and Billy McGrath c/o Frankie Quinn; Fidelma Walsh, John Quinn, Sean Dower, David Thornton c/o Development Draw; J.J. Hurley c/o Garry Cunningham; Pat White and Mark Rowe c/o Francis Thompson and Ben Harte c/o Paddy Murphy. In the promoters draw we had 6 bottles of whiskey. Pat Kelly Snr, Jim Greene, Garry Cunningham, Francis Thompson, Niall Walsh and Phil Fanning. Well done to all our winners and thanks to all our supporters, promoters, and of course Josie Evans for all her hard work throughout the year.

Poker League

The league maybe over but the final table is not full just yet! Two seats will be up for grabs in a one off freeze-out €15 euro game for people who didn’t make the top 8 and who have played more than six games in the league. This will run on Wednesday 14^th at the normal time. The following are the top eight with the chips for the final table in brackets! Ricky Freeman (20,000), Kenny Stafford (19,500), Derek English (19,000), Ian Galgey (18,500), Alan Brett (18,000), Wayne Ryan (17,500), Richie Roche (17,000), Peter Penkert (16,500). Juvenile AGM

The Juvenile AGM takes place on Wednesday at 8pm in the club. We hope to see all of ye there as we plan for the coming year!

Presentation Night

The Under 11-16 medal presentation will take place on Wednesday 14^th December at 6:30pm. Hope to see all the family and lads there.

Referee’s Course

A Level one basic referee’s course will begin in January and will run on the following dates in January 17^th, 19^th, 24^th and 26^th. This course is for anyone over 17 years of age. Anyone interested please contact Jim Murphy on 087-6758221 for an application form.

Last Man Standing

Keep an eye on how your doing in the Last Man Standing Competition by clicking on to “The Last Man Standing” Page on the website under the news tab! We had 6 high profile exits this week. The Interview Room

Chess Club

Chess club takes place every Tuesday night in the club at 9:30pm. We hope to see the regular faces and some new ones up next Tuesday.

Darts & Cards

Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.

Training Times

Training has finished up for the lads as we approach Christmas. We hope to see ye all back in January/February!!
