Mount Sion Gaa Club Notes

Under 21

The Under 21s will face Ballygunner on Saturday 20th October in Mount Sion. Throw in at 2:30pm. We hope ye all can come up and give the lads your full support.

Ladies Football

Our Ladies played the Semi-Final of the league last Saturday in Mount Sion against Comeragh Rangers. Our girls fell behind early to a strong start from the country girls. Sion did pull themselves back into the game with a goal midway through the half. However, it was Comeragh Rangers who led at the break. The mid-county side continued to hold strong in the second half and ran out winners. Hard luck girls. A session over for another year, but we can look back and say it was a successful year, as we captured the County Title for the first time. Well done to all.

Race Night

Sunday the 28^th October we will be running a race night in the club at 8pm. Music will follow after last race. So if you’re looking for somewhere to go the bank holiday weekend, come up and join in the craic.

Last Man Standing

No Premier League last weekend with the International break. Updated last man standing table is up on the website! Not many left! Get your team into Tina by next Thursday night at the latest. Deise Draw

It is not late to purchase a Deise Draw ticket. Next month’s draw takes place on Friday 27^th October. Tickets can be bought from any of the promoters or from behind the bar. Please have your money in before the draw. A list of all promoters names can be seen on the notice board in the club. Tickets are €10 per draw.

Juvenile Training Times

The following are the times and venues are for juvenile hurling training:

5 to 7 year olds Children born in 2005, 2006 & 2007 takes place at 12 Noon every Saturday on the All-Weather Astro-Turf Pitch at the Club Grounds.

Juvenile Camogie Training also takes place on Saturdays at 12 noon on The All-Weather Astro-Turf Pitch at the Club Grounds.

8 & 9 year olds, Boys born in 2003 and 2004 takes place from 11am-12pm on Saturdays at the Club field.

10 & 11 year old boys takes place on a Tuesday nights at 6pm-7:15pm on the pitch.

Looking to get your child involved in sport or meet new friends. Then bring them along to the correct age group or contact Juvenile Chairman Peter Walsh for more information. Training is 100% free and hurleys and helmets can be supplied to those who need them. Best of luck to all the children and coaches for 2012!!

Darts & Cards

Darts and Cards for club members. Come along and join in the fun. Darts takes place every Thursday night with Cards on Friday nights, both starting around 10pm. Great prizes on offer!! All Club Members are welcome.
